Go Green in Your Clothing Closet!

Continuing from yesterday's post on the symbolism and effects of wearing certain colors today I am going to discuss the color of green.

Wearing green helps to activate growth, balance and harmony in your life. It's a color of happy, healthy relationships. The heart chakra contains the color of green which deals with the higher consciousness and love.

If you are feeling out of balance or the need for a change toss a little green into your life. Especially wear this color on a day when you need the courage and freedom to pursue new ideas or trying out a new activity.

I am personally drawn to the color of green in my clothing choices and was happy to find out that another ability it has is the protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others. Being a mother and a Pisces to boot, I definitely need help in that category! I think this weekend it might be time to go shop and add some more green wardrobe choices.

Right now in my eBay store I have some great options to add a bit of green to your clothing collection. So please stop by and browse.

Wear the Color of Blue to Add Peace, Stability & Calm to Your Life

Based on the book by Louise Hay, Color and Numbers that I read at the end of the year 2010; I decided to breakdown the clothes that I sell on eBay by colors. That way you can find clothes by the color that you might want or need to add to your wardrobe. Every color that we wear is symbolic and adds attributes or influences to better help us in our daily interactions.

I found a wonderful website today which details out what wearing the color of blue can do for us.

www.crystal-cure.com

"The color of blue symbolizes youth, spirituality, truth and peace.
Wearing dark hues of blue gives you a stable, calm, conservative feeling. All shades of blue will help to make easy communication, whether it is with yourself or others. Blue is the color associated with the throat chakra, which deals with communication of how we feel and what we think."

Right now in my eBay store I have some great options to add a splash of blue to your clothing collection. So please stop by and browse.

George & Lupeta Leekity Biography

Lupeta Leekity was born in 1942 and currently lives with her husband George in Zuni, New Mexico. She married George Leekity in 1970 and they work together making sandcast silver jewelry.

Lupeta is the daughter of Horace Iule who was well known for his exceptional silver sandcast jewelry designs with a specialty in handmade crosses. Both her and George learned the craft from her father and still use his designs casting new pieces from his originals. In order to differentiate from their own desgins they use the stamp "lule" on them.

George also does his own one of a kind designs and uses the stamp "G&L Leekity". Most of the crosses are made by Lupeta after the tradition of her father. Lupeta began creating jewelry in 1972 and both her and her husband started using the "G&L Leekity" hallmark in 1977.

Lupeta's daughter (Rosella) and her two brothers (Barney & Philip) also continue to create and design outstanding castwork jewelry.

A Numerology Color Connection

Well we are now 3 weeks into the New Year 2011 and I can't believe the personal changes and what I have accomplished already. Like the previous post mentioned about the meaning of the color for 2011 Honeysuckle, I have felt more energized, focused, full of vigor and zest than I have for years! And I must admit that I have been wearing Honeysuckle colored clothes which is strange as I normally don't like anything pink. I am mostly a green and blue hue type of person. I thought it was interesting that when I did my numerology numbers from Louise Hay's book Numbers and Colors those were my dominant colors. I guess we instinctly know what colors will work best for us. And of course it helps when people confirm this by commenting on how great a certain color looks on you. Fascinating. There just might be something to this numberology and color connection.

2011 Pretty in Pink

I absolutely love this color choice for 2011. You are already seeing the stars wearing it and the color is featured in the magazines. What is even more inspiring to me is the meaning of the color's symbolism.

Pantone's website says this about the color of honeysuckle:

"While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life."

Isn't that what we all need to move forward and away from the troubles of the last few years. And for me personally I am already experiencing renewed vigor and creativity like I haven't had for years.

Wishing you all a Pretty in Pink Honeysuckle 2011 with all its meaning and symbolism enriching your life in eveything you do.

It's For the Birds! Feeding Birds in the Winter.

During the cold winter months it's a win-win situation to help the birds out by providing a high energy food source while reaping the joy of watching them. This can be done by creating a Suet Feeder. You can buy suet at the meat department of your grocer or get it commercially in the form of a suet cake. Then hang it in a metal or mesh container from a tree or another feeder.

This will attract several species of woodpeckers, black-capped chickadee, Carolina chickadee, tufted titmouse, white-breasted nuthatch, red-breasted nuthatch, starling and mockingbirds.

Does It Feel Like Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds At Your Windows?

Does it seem like you are stuck in the horror movie The Birds with random birds hitting your home windows? Why causes this? The birds see the reflections of the sky and trees in the windows and think it is open territory to fly into. If this happens often a good solution is to put a window decal reprensenting the silhouette of a hawk which warns the birds that it is dangerous, stay away!

Don't Let Your Putty Cat Eat Your Tweety Birds at the Bird Feeder

How can you stop cats from catching the birds at your bird feeder? The key is picking the right location before setting up a wild bird feeder. First make sure there are no bushes or objects that the cats can hide behind. That way the cats stay out in the open and the birds can see them and stay away. Another option would be to fence around any ground feeders so the cats can't go in.

Don't Play Whack A Mole Gopher Game in Your Garden!

While this is a blast to play in the arcades for kids and adults alike; it is definitely not a fun game to play in the garden. Chasing moles and gophers down their holes can be frustrating indeed as you see the fruits of your labor disappearing along with them.

What is an organic gardener to do? How to you get rid of gophers and moles naturally without using poisons? That's where companion planting can come to the rescue. Planting daffodils, castor beans, and gopher plants (mole plant) are all toxic to gophers. The last two plants are toxic to children also, so do not plant these if children live on the premises. But daffodils are a very pretty and effective deterent to keep the moles away so you can enjoy the beauty and fruits of your harvest each season.

Add Color & Beauty to Your Garden & Home

My daughter and I spotted ladybugs and catepillars in our garden yesterday. A wonderful sign that spring is near. Later that afternoon she brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers that she picked for me. That started me thinking about what kinds of flowers I wanted to plant in the garden this year. They provide such color, beauty and usefulness (cut flowers, attracking bees and hummingbirds, edible treats, and good companions for our vegetables) to our gardens and homes.

If you too are starting to get spring fever and want to dream and plan to add flowers to your garden the following is a great reference book for your gardening library.
